It’s the time of year I focus on turning my To Do’s to Ta-Da’s because, well, I have one year before I have a.n.o.t.h.e.r. birthday.  Over the next 12 months, I’ll work to complete my list which is often broad, wide-ranging and odd collection of items like  (a) let my bangs grow out; (b) learning to use a long arm quilting machine so I could decide if I wanted to purchase one; OR (c) visit South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana during the summer.  See?  It’s whatever I want— To. Get. Done.

Well, I’ve been thinking it.  A lot.  So, here are some of my To Do’s for the next 12 months:

  • I will fully embrace big and bold.  Oops, I should specify:  in quilting.  I want to make curved pieced quilts using improvisational techniques.  I want to use bold and bright colors and my  designs.
  • I will be turning quilt designs from To Do’s to Ta-Da’s by designing 365 quilts in 2015.  Yep…365 designs.  This is one of those easy goals because the habit has already formed.  I’m on day 102.  I started last fall.  I use EQ7 software.  For me, it’s about creativity and gaining a deep level of understanding about the process of quilt design, the layout, palette, and so on.  Here are a couple of examples.Just Ducky: Quilt Design by Annie McHugs

  • Using my quilt designs, I will write tutorials, enter contests, write patterns and enjoy the play.
  • I want a quilt on every bed at the retreat. I need to complete 5 more.  Add that to the list.
  • Lastly, I will blog at least 3 times a week for the year!

Can you tell I like big challenges?  Can you tell that I like to be busy?

So, tell me, what is on your To Do List that will become a Ta-Da?
