I’m inspired to create and it is usually to meet a need. But, I love a great challenge. I love color. I love pattern. I love contrast. I love designing quilts. I love designing quilt blocks. I design a quilt every day.
I joined a FB group called QDAD, Quilt Design A Day, early last fall and lurked for a few months. Yes, I watched and I learned and I finally I talked myself into getting design software. Now I use it every day. Yes, EQ7 has a loyal customer. When someone posted that EQ is hosting a 2-week Block Design Challenge using Michael Miller’s Fiesta collection I was in!
I designed many original blocks for this challenge. I posted multiples on my Annie McHugs Facebook page to get input from my friends which was very helpful. I finally chose one. I uploaded it and realized that I had uploaded the wrong one! Dang…do you ever make mistakes like that? I drive Me crazy!
I uploaded the correct block and sent a quick email to the host, Christine. She kindly and generously deleted my first entry. Yeah, Christine! (And thank you!)
So here are my blocks. And here’s the one I chose to enter in the challenge. Why don’t you pop on over to see the competition? It might inspire you to create something.
