It’s time to laugh. Yes, I need to laugh because I’m coming off of a wild week which was not nearly as bad as Alexander’s  Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.  It was wild with unexpected surprises like water in the studio causing me to fall behind on my projects which makes me grumpy.  Mr. McHugs probably noticed.  (Sorry honey!)

Now that my studio is 95% rearranged and 90% put back into place after the water seepage, I must face organizing my “office area”.  I dread it as much as Alexander dreaded going to the dentist.  I have ideas about creating an organized, calm, efficient space.  Ideas, I say!  And then I laugh out loud!  Truly and sincerely, I want an organized, clam, efficient space….and as many of you who have worked with me….know that I cannot make that happen. .  In fact, I bet my previous co-workers are spitting coffee right now!  I try.  Just like my purse explodes when I travel…my office space explodes and papers are suddenly everywhere…and stacks of notes lie around…and it’s a ginormous mess. So, I want to laugh to soothe my soul.

I’m going to turn left now (code for changing the subject) and talk about the Tyler Modern Quilt Group Sew Day at the Hidden Star Retreat last Saturday.  .  It was a great day and we shared lunch, snacks, sewing, painting, laughing, sunshine and friends. Hidden at the Retreat is a “Hidden Message in a Bottle”.  When you visit, be sure to look for it.  Hint:  inside the gate is a useless, but really neat, vintage, hand painted mailbox standing at attention near the driveway.  If you open the mailbox you will see the lid of a plastic jar.  I used Modge Podge to glue this message on the lid:

“CONGRATULATIONS!  You found it…The Hidden Star Retreat Hidden Message in a Bottle  (Works with me here…I know it’s a plastic jar.)  Rules of the Game:  Open jar.  One message per day per person.”

Hidden Message in a Bottle

Inside the jar I placed 120 slips of paper with words of wisdom or maybe just silliness.  It took me hours to make them all up…okay, not really. Hours?  Yes.  Made them all up?  Not really.  I made many of them up but not all of them.   It was a great project and So Much Fun!

Because it’s time to laugh, here are a few of the messages that you may find:

Jake

And for your laughing pleasure, a few more:

  • If you are crazy and you know it…shake your meds.
  • If life gives you lemons, stick them in your bra.
  • iSleepy?  There’s a Nap for that!
  • You are not allowed to do ANYTHING that begins with “Hey, Y’all!  Watch This!”
  • If being in your pajamas by 7 p.m. is wrong…you don’t want to be right!
  • Refusing a nap is illegal and is called Resisting a Rest.
  • If you find a big kettle of crazy, it’s best not to stir it!
  • Life is too short to be a pincushion.  Tell them to stick it somewhere else.

And, finally, for today:

Procrastination

Now that I’ve seen the stop procrastinating message, I’ll get busy on my office area.  It’s time to laugh!  Don’t you agree?

Have a great day, friends.
Goodbye for now from Texas.
